A little intro about myself:
I completed the degree B.Mus (Musicology) in 1990 with major subjects Piano and Voice. During my studies I started teaching individual piano lessons. I had the opportunity to sing in the Opera Chorus at the StateTheatre. Opera's that I sang in was D'elisir da more, Carmen, Tosca, and Otello. I won the opera bursary at the Pretoria Eisteddfod judged by Mimi Coertze.
In 1993 I completed the degree B. (Hons) (Music education) at UP. I taught a very succesful preschool music program at various preschools and play groups. The present studio was opened in 2008 and I have decided to concentrate on Piano, Recorder, Keyboard and Theory of Music lessons. At the moment I have 32 years plus experience in teaching individual lessons.
Music Courses
My teaching style focuses on skills training, but also emphasizes self-exploration and discovering a passion for something new. Take a look at the selection of lessons and courses I provide and choose the right one for you.
Lessons are offered to children from Gr R through primary school, teens and adults. Every learner is assessed individually with regard to age, skills and previous music experience.
A specific tutor programme is then assigned to ensure maximum progress.
The studio expects that the teacher, the learner and the parent works in unison to ensure progress.
For interested pupils the possibility of music exams from Unisa and Trinity College of London are offered. The students participate in yearly Eisteddfods and 2 yearly concerts are held. They are joyous occasions where pupils get to share their progress with their parents, family and friends.
